What would be the cheapest way to get an Etherwave in Britain?

The title says it all. I have been looking for ages, and whilst the notorious 'Turnkey' is the only material shop that stocks them, the price of £350 is excessive.

Would ordering off Amazon/Zz Sounds/another shop be cheaper? I am horribly confused, and have absolutely no idea how much the instrument (alone) will cost.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I think your best bet is a used one on e-bay. There's always a couple floating out there....As far as shipping...I'll tell you, the thing is damn light!

You could also go to the Moog website and see if there are any dealers in your area...

The cheapest is the kit version. You might find out which dealers will ship out of the US for you. You will probably pay around $40 USD for shipping to GB.

In some cases purchasing from a 3rd-world country with a lousy exchange rate works well. Here in NZ they retail for $900 (less with a nod and a wink), that works out to ~#350. Before shipping of course. Maybe not much of a saving now, but it sure was when the exchange rate was worse (for us).

At least with the sinking greenback (sorry guys) my Wavefront was slightly cheaper, although my $365USD purchase became $690NZD once shipping and the exchange rate kicked in! So much for my plan of a sub-$500 theremin!

I just checked, and it looks like Amazon.com will ship to countries other than the US. They sell the Etherwave kit for $299.

Wow. That is REALLY cheap- and the shipping will only be $20 or so. I'm inclined to buy a kit theremin not only because it's cheaper but also because I want to build a nice case to put it in.
