Photo-Theramins?

Does anyone own/play one of Professor Television's Photo-Theramin? The samples sound pretty good.

I own one. I don't actually bother to "play" it...it's more like I play WITH it. I'd much rather "play" my Etherwave Pro!
As I and others have said, the Professor Television "theremin" is GREAT for making noise, but if you're serious about making serious music you're better off getting a REAL theremin.
Just my opinion.

Honestly, of what I've seen (and non-touched) of the photo variety, imo, can't imagine one of them being as playable and expressive as the antennae kind.

Ya know... for a long time, Lydia used an IR volume control on her theremin. I believe her husband George built it for her. I think one of the problems with doing that for a pitch antenna would be that you have to stay in the line of sight of the "eye". With a pitch rod, you're free to move around the theremin more, or move your hand up/down, etc.
