I'm not sure if Jason's anti-spam tool works... Just flagged and then nuked another 7 spam posts, this time from Bamenda, Cameroon. More info here. It's also an ip address with bad reputation.

For the moment it's more work than before, because every single spam posting has to be flagged before the whole stuff can be nuked with a single mouse click. I'm not satisfied!

Thierry ~

Would it alleviate your work load by reporting these offensive posts? If so, I'd be glad to do that for you :)

That's a great idea, and I will work on it next.

I don't know why the filter is letting these posts through, but I suspect there is a problem with the site actually calling the filter. I will send you more notes in mail, Thierry.

Please do not delete the posts. Mark them as spam so they disappear from public view, but don't delete. I need thr data to debug why the filter is not working.

That's what I wanted to do. But while I flagged 7 of his posts he spammed another 10. So I used the nuke function, sorry. I will see how I can prevent these morons from continuing without deleting the user profile.

You could ban him, which should prevent further posts or logging in.

Showing how difficult this problem is, Reputation Authority flag the Google indexer as having the same level of bad reputation as that Cameroon spammer.

Are these all coming from the same IP address? If so, it should be an easy matter to report and ban, shouldn't it? Also, can filters be setup to bounce flagged Spam back to the sender?

Some time ago I discovered a website with hundreds of mailing lists that can be sent with a few mouse clicks. Nice deterrent for repeat Spammers and the recipient must opt-out to stop receiving them. Fight Spam with Spam?

From what I have seen, they come from a wide range of IP addresses. I will be adding an IP address blocking filter for the site next though.

By the way, I know about all the comment spam and will be dealing with that next.
