Can someone help me here? The PAiA web site shows a pitch preview/aux. input modification at

http://paia.com/ProdArticles/therefaq.htm#therauxm

with a link to their headphone amp:

http://paia.com/proddetail.asp?prod=9605K

but it's not at all clear to me. I suppose the two are somehow additive.

The pitch preview produces a line level signal and it needs some amplification to drive an earbud (or headphone).

I just use the little $14 mini amplifier from Radio Shack as a pitch preview amp:

But how? How does this connect to the modification shown at the PAiA web site, or does it?

Alan,

Since I don't use the "Mute" plug on my Theremax, I connected the pitch preview's output to the tip of the Mute jack. I use a 1/4" to 1/8" cable to connect between the Theremax and the mini amplifier.

Alan,
K.Kissinger uses the same Radio Shack personal amp that I use as part of my pitch preview circuit. The personal amp comes with a speaker, volume control and a earphone out jack.
I removed the amps circuit board from the case, clipped the speaker off and installed the board inside my T-Max case and the earphone jack to the T-Max front panel.
The desoldering and soldering assembly of the PAiA pitch modification is easy. If you built the T-Max, you can handle this.

To see this mod in a bad photo go to the pictures at http://www.myspace.com/unclenaguma .

Good Luck!

A picture is worth a thousand words! But I have another question for you Tmax builders: What about that switch (Snew) in the schematic on the PAiA web site? Why have it open? Why close it?

Oho! It seems the firewall I am working behind at the moment doesn't allow me to access myspace.com. I will have to wait until I get home tomorrow evening.
