This is just to remind everyone, and inform any newbies, that Ether Music 2006 hosted by Moog Music and the Orange Peel will be held on August 3-6, 2006 in Asheville, North Carolina.

It'll be tough for them to beat EM 2005, but it's good fun if you want to see, talk, and hear theremin for four days.

The fees for the last one was $375 (USD) for the four days, but there were also single day "tickets" available.

I would expect www.Ethermusic2006.com will be set up as soon as they have concrete plans. The 2005 site seems to be dismantled now though. I'll ping Leslie at the Orange Peel this week to see how planning is going & will report back.

hi, I am so brand new to Theremin music that I have never even seen one. And I can not even find one. I have found that the etherwave is out of stock. and now there is an etherwave pro. I haven't a clue. But I am drawn to finding out more and playing one. I see there is a gathering in the summer of 2006, but I can't wait that long. Any help would be appericated. Thanks Pablo

I know exactly how you feel. After I saw my first theremin in person, it was almost a year before I finally got my hands on one (or, near one). Back then, they were not being mass produced, so my only hope was to build one.

Ethermusic 2006 should be fantastic. I'll be getting some initial planning information very soon, so I'll share what I can here.

Check with InstrumentPro.com or zZounds.com - both should have Etherwaves in stock very soon.

Has anyone been able to register for EtherMusic 2006? I have been unable to find any mention of it outside of Thereminworld.com.

Any information greatly appreciated :)

So far, I have no details on it. I'll get in touch with the organizers when I get back to see what's going on.

if you need talent to perform, i am available. my defunct etherwave decided to come back to life last week and remarkably it still remembers how to play all of the music on my set lists.

FYI:

A friend of mine, Trevor Pinch (co-author of the book; "Analog Days: The Invention and Impact of the Moog Synthesizer"), has recently been asked to give the keynote address at EtherMusic 2006.

So...plans must be under way.
