Confirmed: Etherwave Pro price to jump on 9/1

A post on the LEVNET mailing list today announced that the price of the Moog Etherwave Pro theremin is set to jump from $995 to $1495 on September 1st. According to Moog Music, the reason cited was "the result of the substantial effort and subsequent cost that has created the best theremin ever."

I have since confirmed this announcement with Mike Adams, president of Moog Music.

Mike also kindly pointed me to the registration page for their newsletters. I've signed up, and I encourage anyone interested in Moog's instruments and news to consider joining too.

While it's disappointing to see that we'll all have to pay more, I think the positive spin on this announcement is that demand for the Etherwave Pro has obviously expanded significantly. This is a good sign for Moog Music, "world thereminization", and heck... the world economy as well!
