First on this Memorial Day weekend I want to thank all of our past and present warriors.
I admire this young mans desire to design in electronics. I think he chose a worthy opponent, the theremin, which will teach him a lot. The biggest lesson all theremin designers first learn is that most approaches won’t work properly! There is something pure and simple in Lev Termen’s original design as well as how to generate a nice voice. I was fortunate to find a theremin builder that had been raked over the coals for years before she (theremin) capitulated to his desire.
Is there a price we can put on knowledge? Like the man in the video asking for support, I too made a nice financial contribution to the individual that is helping me achieve my theremin goal. This is the reason I find the Millennia STT-1 to be a reasonably priced enhancement. First a developer must weed through half theremin truths then understand and capture theremin fundamentals. After that you can add on the time tested tricks of the trade. Could this also be cheating?

I'm feeling like there is still a lot of innovation to be done in the theremin space. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I'm holding onto it. I look at things like Thierry's bass mod, the TVox Tour's volume calibration system, etc. and think there must be some magic in the ether still undiscovered.
