Here is a video and write up of a charming little robot playing the theremin built by robotics researcher Ms Petite Geek. Somehow robots and the theremin seem to go hand in servo.

Or maybe a self playing robotic theremin attachment will find itself in as many homes at the player piano did.
It's pretty cool that theremin playing is such a high measure of robot design.
