Moog Theremin T-Shirts

Yesterday night, Thorwald performed for the first time on his new custom made theremin during the "Lingehaven concert" in the Netherlands. Due to storm and rain, this open air concert had unfortunately to be shortened and he could not play Achron's Hebrew Melody as scheduled. But we got a live recording of Alyabieff's Nightingale (see above).

More details about the instrument can be found here:

Now this is proper TW stuff and that is what I am talking about, this is a theremin with modern design and the hybrid concept connects the new to the early era. Great work gentlemen and for those that want to know it was Thierry driving his 1985 Yugo GV at count 2:13 honking his horn; he was circling just outside the stage to create that rain splashing effect!

@Christopher: ROFL! No, I wasn't driving around and honking. I sat anxiously at home near my cellphone in case a problem would arise...

Wow! What a beautiful instrument - it's great to hear a story that simultaneously showcases such a talented musician and talented engineer. Leon would surely be very pleased indeed.

Unfortunately Thorwald & Thijn didn't have the chance to play Achron's Hebrew Melody due to the approaching thunderstorm. The first piece (Rachmaninoff's Vocalise) was recorded and posted to YouTube also: http://www.youtube.c... ()

Excellent performances from Thorwald. I look forward to hearing the sound of this beautiful new Thierry Frenkel theremin recorded under more ideal circumstances.

I truly enjoyed this performance... The Theremin sounded gorgeous. But that it also because a skilled performer was behind it to make it sing. Thank you to both! What a great way to welcome a new "hybrid" into the world!! :)
