Moog Theremin T-Shirts

Composer and Thereminist Elizabeth Brown is premiering her latest Meet the Composer commission on Sunday 29 April at 8 pm at the Renee Weiler Concert Hall, in the Greenwich House Music School, 46 Barrow Street, NYC.

It's a multimedia piece created with video artist Lothar Osterburg. There is a video trailer of the opera featuring Elizabeth on YouTube and it looks really cool.

Bookmobile for Dreamers

I'm a big fan of Elizabeth's music, she has unique voice and very rich composing style. Being a thereminist she knows how to use the instrument well and create varied musical textures and solo lines.  Her chamber operas explore unusual material, like her previous work Rural Electrification, the music is constantly transforming: a sound-scape becoming a song-speech aria becoming a duet with theremin..., always full of beautiful lyric writing and more than a few surprises.

To make a reservation email events@emf.org, there is a $10 donation at the door.  Hope some TW-ers can make it!

I, too, am a big fan of Elizabeth's music -- wish the concert was within a stone's throw of my location.

Good to read that Elizabeth continues to compose and to utilize the theremin in her work.

Hope some other TW-ers are going tonight! I'll be the guy in the black TW teeshirt.
