IR MIDI Device Lets You Control Your Synth Like A Theremin

Here's a fun little toy if you're looking for a theremin-like way to control your synth via MIDI. The Digitalent Handmidi is a small optical theremin device that sends MIDI notes to your synth on a specified channel. If you have a Roland synth made in the last ~8 years, you've probably done this with the D-Beam controller. It's currently available on eBay. You can watch it in action in a short demo below:

From the demo, this looks like it would be more suited to effects than to playing music, as it sends individual notes rather than a continuous pitch bend. If you have one or have tried one, tell us what you think of it.
